If you ask God to forgive you, He does. He doesn't say "OK" and then goes on to remind you what a sinner you are. He FORGIVES. “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." (Isaiah 1:18) THAT is what the Lord says.
And if God forgives us, who have sinned again and again and again, is there a reason you can find why WE shouldn't forgive others? I can't find one.
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
We have the perfect example of forgiveness. With God's help we can try to follow it. :)
